EICR Electrical Report London (2024)
An EICR is an Electrical Installation Condition Report issued by a qualified electrician. It is a formal report that is produced following an engineering judgement of an electrical installation within a property or HMO. It must be carried out by an experienced qualified electrician or approved engineer.
During EICR Testing, the Electrician will evaluate the safety and overall condition of the electrical installation and provide an engineering view on whether the installation is fit for continued service. EICRs are vital in identifying potential electrical hazards that could give rise to danger, ensuring compliance with electrical regulations, and safeguarding the well-being of residents, employees, and property in London. |

Our EICR Certification Process in London: What to Expect?
The EICR process is an examination of electrical installations conducted by a qualified electrician. Here are the key steps:
- Visual Inspection:
The electrician visually inspects the electrical installations, looking for signs of wear, damage, or non-compliance with regulations. - Testing and Verification:
Various tests are performed to assess the electrical system's integrity, including continuity tests, polarity checks, and insulation resistance tests.
- Classification of Observations:
The electrician classifies any observations made during the inspection as either 'C1' (dangerous), 'C2' (potentially dangerous), 'C3' (improvement recommended), or 'FI' (further investigation required). - Report Generation:
A detailed report is generated, summarising the findings, including any necessary remedial work and a recommended retest date.
- Certificate Issuance:
If the installation is deemed safe and compliant, an EICR Report is issued. If issues are identified, an unsatisfactory report will be issued. unless the the necessary repairs and improvements have been made.

It is good practice for landlords with existing reports to check these reports and decide whether the electrical installation complies with electrical safety standards. Landlords might also wish to contact the inspector who provided a report to ensure the installation complies with electrical safety standards.
Keep Your Property Safe with an EICR Inspection in London
The 18th edition of the UK Wiring Regulations came into effect in 2019, so if a landlord already has an EICR report for a property that was carried out after this date and has complied with all the other requirements of the Regulations, they won’t have to have another inspection for 5 years, provided the report does not state that the next inspection should take place sooner.
Existing installations that have been installed in accordance with earlier editions of the Wiring Regulations may not comply with the 18th edition in every respect. This does not necessarily mean that they are unsafe for continued use or require upgrading.
